Best places to go in NYC for a NYC slut (from a NYC slut)

So, I don't know if you've heard. But I get around. One of my favorite places to come back to though, time and time again, is New York City. I love the city, I love the ease of traveling to, from and within the city, I love the restaurants, I love the nightlife, I love the music scene, I just love it here.

So what happens when you're as *ahem* well-traveled *ahem* as I am and find yourself back in New York again, with no desire to see the Empire State building for the 100th time?

Disclaimer: This is not to be confused with places to go in NYC for a local. I am not in a monogamous relationship with New York, I just like to call it when I'm lonely for a little action.

Here are my Top 5 Places to go in New York City from one slut to another.

Top of the Rock: $22/adult

I have my favorite rooftop views of the city. But the Top of 30 Rockefeller Plaza is my favorite (if you're going to pay). What's the point of going to the top of the Empire State Building if you can't even see it from there? Go instead to a slightly more discreet New York skyscraper and get the panoramic views you've been itching for. DO NOT go when it is cloudy. DO NOT go when it is raining. Just don't waste your money. But if it's neither of the above, the $22 is well worth it.

China Town/Little Italy: FREE

Chinatown and Little Italy both make some people's first trip lists, and for good reason, they're pretty awesome. Although, I really wanted to show people on my NY for Virgin's post the things you can do in New York which are PURE New York. That being said, NY's Chinatown and Little Italy are two of the best ones you can find, especially on the East Coast. Chinatown is great for food (obviously) and more importantly to me, at least, shopping. I love hearing the random dudes whispering "Prada, Gucci, Chanel" as you walk down Canal Street only to whisk you away into a locked closet the size of an elevator stuffed full of all the fake purses you could ever want. Don't be afraid to follow strange men into locked closets. That's my best advice. Little Italy is amazing in a different way, and mostly for the food. Most of the restaurants on Mulberry Street in Little Italy are owned by first or second generation Italian immigrants and are staffed by boys and girls fresh off the boat. You won't find Italian food better than this stateside.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn: FREE

Once you've conceded to leaving the island you'll never go back find a part of New York many never try. I find myself to be a bit of a Brooklyn snob these days, and no matter what the girls on SATC or Gossip Girl say, I will shout it on the rooftops that I'm proud to call Brooklyn home when I'm in the city. A good starting place for Brooklyn is Williamsburg, a hipster town right on the East River with an incredible food/bar assortment as well as some of the most stunning views of Manhattan from anywhere. My favorite of such views is in Greenpoint (just north of Williamsburg) off Greenpoint Ave. and Java St.

Being a Peeping Tom on the Upper West Side: CREEPY FREE

There is nothing wrong with looking in people's windows. Pick a street, any street. As long as it's West of central park and between 50th St. and 100th St. Stroll along and look at rich people and rich people houses. I love looking at the high story windows of these amazing brownstones to see floor to ceiling libraries, giant chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling murals and marble spiral staircases. I don't know why I like this activity so much. But I do. So maybe you will too!

Bryant Park: FREE

Head behind the NY Library to Bryant Park, one of my favorite small parts in New York. Bryant Park is has amazing markets, seasonal activities and ample lounging room. In the winter, there’s an excellent Christmas market here with a makeshift skating rink, or if you come during the warmer months make sure and make a stop at the outdoor reading room or set up your mobile workstation at one of the picnic tables and take advantage of yet another great New York free wi-fi hotspot.

Alright, I'm ready for the criticism. Where would you take a second or third time visitor if you had the chance?
